conway had a field trip today. we went to the gilbert police department. my sil's aunt and "grandma brenda's" sister, darlene was the "tour guide." she was so great with the kids. she went over all kinds of safety rules with them as she showed us around. due to pm pre-k quincy lucked out and got to come with. tills was in tow too, it was past nap time, so she was quite content in her stroller.
they saw real hand cuffs, and got to go inside a real jail cell...
...and then got to crawl around inside a cop car. the back seats are so funny, they have that bar that comes down across the bad guy's legs, similar to the one used on roller coaster rides.
while waiting for the officer to sound the sirens she practiced crossing the street safely with the kids. she recited this cute poem:
stop, look and listen, before you cross the street. first use your eyes and ears, and then your feet.
they even got a bag full of goodies to take home and got to pick a pencil as well. i was glad i went in the end, although i was a little irritated before hand that mom's had to be in attendance. i though it would be more of a pain for them to have me bring all 3 of my kids, but it wasn't bad at all.
