"i am an american,"
i am proud to be.
i love the land in which we live,
from sea to shining sea.
on my heart my hand will be,
each time the flag is high.
i love the land in which we live,
and that i won't deny.
i pledge allegiance to the flag,
with liberty and justice for all.
and in my heart the flag will be,
with pride i will stand tall.
i love america with all my heart,
the u.s. is number one!
so when the flag is high, i then will stand;
for "i am an american!"
i love our country, and the freedom that we are given. i indulge in days that are especially observed for our country. i get teary eyed at every single rising of the flag, every pledge of allegiance and every national anthem...and especially when the song "proud to be an american" comes on the radio. i can hardly mouth the words. one of my favorite things is when my kids recite the pledge of allegiance. both parker and quincy had it memorized before the age of 4. conway is getting there. and tilley mocks the hand on the heart motion. god bless america!
