this
easter was definitely one i'll always remember. for so many reasons.

we had a late
saturday night over at aunt stephs, and all the kids fell
asleep on the way home, in their
clothes. we carried them in and let them sleep on the
couches, they wanted to try and catch the
easter bunny. 6:30 sunday morning, and i cringed when i heard
parker wake up
quincy and
try to wake up conway. "the easter bunny came and filled up our baskets!" "dang it! i tried to stay awake so i could catch him!" parker said.

at around
8am,
conway finally decided to get up and check things out. just enough time to inhale half the basket before church. really-he didn't stop,
all day long he ate
candy.

poor
tilley was up till almost 1am the night before screaming and tugging at her
ears. she wouldn't eat her bottle or take her binky. 2 teething tablets and 1/2 tsp. of tylenol with codeine later, and still nothing but
tears. she was in so much
pain; you could just tell by her cry, and i didn't know what to do.
er? i decided that if she was still up at 1am, that's where we were going. she passed out right before, between parker and i. the next morning was much of the same thing. a little claritin to try and clear up some of the drainage, and she seemed to be good to go. all day she was super
clingy and restless, she just wanted to be
held. held at home, held at church, held at dinner. she wouldn't
eat anything all day either, except when we introduced her to
peeps. what a sticky mess. whatever made her happy was fine with me.

a yummy easter
feast over at aunt stephs. the
traditional easter dinner: ham, stephs baked beans and yummy potatoes, ben's famous pretzel jello, maile's rolls, mom's fruit salad and deviled eggs made by yours truly ;) tilley again was
passed from one person to the next, basically we took turns
eating. she really was held the entire night, but
grandma and grandpa didn't seem to mind and occasionally there was the typical, "let's see who she goes to," contest. i don't recall who won this time.

on your marks.....get set....
go! this year we finally agreed that
easter egg hunts are for kids. the adult money hunt has officially been
retired. it was; and should be, all about the
kids. you could tell some of the adults were quite sad about it though, as they followed the kids around helping them look for eggs. when tilley discovered that inside these
plastic eggs there was a sweet surprise, she was beside herself.

and a
gooey grand finale to a wonderful easter sunday. as we sat and watched the documentary of the
reflections of chirst, it just set the tone. the kids were quiet, and the room was dark. the
spirit was strong, and the
emotions were flowing from those who were seeing it for the first time. i love it. it really had a greater
impact the second time around. close to the end of the video and
quincy seems to be pulling at something in her hair. parker had stuck a wad of
gum in it. "she did it to me!" he said, while pointing at his buzzed head. ugh. "it just didn't stick." duh! thank you maile and julie for whipping out the
peanut butter, combing out the gum and saving quincy's
locks!

finally....
dessert! what's a nagai easter, without stephs famous
carrot cake (my dad's favorite). the frosting....makes my mouth water just thinking about it. maile and lei's also made these yummy treats for the kids. easter
bunny trains, so cute! after dessert and on the way home, we stopped at grandma karens for a little easter
gift. books and special water bottles. grandma always has this
fancy water bottle with her, and the kids love taking drinks from it. so she got them
minitures. they are so cute, and the kids were so excited about them.

and as the kids got ready for
bed, dad offered
$5 for each basket filled with candy. while i argued with him that, that takes the fun out of the
holiday, parker and quincy were sold. conway on the other hand......ya right!
happy easter!
