independance day

the fifth of july was the parade in provo. remember how horrible my sense of direction, and common sense sometimes is...well we left home in plenty of time to get to the parade. there was no rush, since we had a saved spot on center street. in provo. i had all the kids all red, white and blued out and we were on our merry way. i got off center street, and started heading east. i was shocked at how little traffic there was. i turned on center street and became confused. where were the barricades, the crowds of people, the floats and police officers on motorcycles?!? i made the dreaded phone call. i hate calling people when i'm lost. i look like a complete idiot. it's necessary on most occasions though. sure enough, i proved my stupidity by getting off on center in orem, not provo. i forgot there was two of them. of course.we parked far, in the auto zone parking lot and met parker there. i walked with the posse, a few blocks, until we were greeted by family. mele and cam also met us there, and i'm pretty sure they left 30 minutes after i did. which tells you how far out of the way i had been lost. i do better when i follow someone. i've actually done better since i've had the iphone. the google maps works like a charm. the provo parade lived up to what it had been made out to be. the weather was great (in the shade), the floats were amazing, and the atmosphere was magical! there wasn't a "missionary mall" float, but lots of byu to make up for it! the kids did a few rides and then we headed to brad and malia's for a little rest time. or not so much. we had a couple hours to kill before we went to the park to celebrate justin's birthday. we had sub's and cake and ice cream, and then hung out till nightfall. the kids needed to let some energy out, cus the following day would be a long 9.5 hours back to arizona!
