thirty one
tax day, i mean parker's birthday we celebrated by eating, eating and more eating. parker took the majority of the day off work, he slept in, and i took the kids to school instead of him. we had chic-fil-a for breakfast. and i spent the rest of the morning baking a sheet cake. he got home just in time for lunch. we tried cafe silvestre, suggested by a utah native. it's hands down the best mexican food we've had in utah. it's "dirty" mexican food. and we loved it. one of parkers childhood friends, jeff miller, lives in provo and we always have a good time when we get together with him and his wife, from idaho bobbi. bobbi's birthday is also on tax day! we met up with them for dinner at tucano's. their pick. it's this brazillian restaurant where they come around with all different meats and cut of peices. perfect for parker. i on the other hand frequented the salad bar and died over their yummy lemonade. steph watched the kids, so we could go kid less, we joked on the car ride over at how jeff says "oh bobbi" and jeff blasted the olympic games song. bobbi also had a few friends meet us at the restaurant. after dinner we grabbed the kids and had cake and ice cream at jeff and bobbi's. parker's gifts were "needs" not "wants" but that's what happens when you're an adult, and when half of our belongings are in another state. parker dreaded this day, for one reason. he can no longer say he's "thirty and dirty." sunday we got together with the extended family for a birthday bbq in provo canyon. it was a blast as always. guests were: steph, mike and their girls, uncle jason, carrie, marshall and their girls, jocelyn, warde and their girls, jeff and bobbi. we grilled burgers and dogs, and everyone brought a side dish. i had made cinnamon rolls that didn't turn out, the high altitude throws off my baking, so we did s'mores instead.
