earh jam

sunday we decided to head to salt lake for earth jam. it was at gorgeous liberty park, packed with all kinds of booths in honor of earth day. there were live bands, playing some decent, and some not so decent music. we met mike, steph and girls, and uncle jason there. we packed picnic dinners, and spread out a blanket somewhere in the middle of all the fun. the entertainment and people watching was great. it was hippie heaven. dread locks, tie-dye, peace signs, hula hoops, hacky sacks, bubbles, and even a drum circle. they had free craft booths for the kids. they came home with sun catchers, or decorated cd's that had been recycled, bird feeders, made out of pine cones rolled in peanut butter and bird seed. and they planted a seed of their choice in little pots. the kids were in people watching mode just like we were. course they begged to do everything that cost money. parker held strong, i was proud. we walked the booths, played soccer and football, chased bubbles, hula hooped and watched the free spirits dance in the drum circle. apparently the drum circle is an every sunday event. it was different, and fun. we were glad to get the invite. we'll see about next year though. peace & love
