after a 3 hour trip in the car we finally arrived to the campsite. then the tent fiasco. we borrowed a tent (mansion) from a friend, and parker of course thought there was no need for a practice run. i love that parker laughs at situations like this....while i'm in the background cursing. we were thankful for those that helped...since the tent stood at a 7 or 8 feet, my 5'3" was of no help at all. it was the biggest, nicest tent though, it even had a guest bedroom.

my kids are all pyro's and they all love cooking over a campfire. we had hot dogs and 'smores. i'm beyond being that mom that stresses about sticky hands and dirty shirts. i love letting them indulge in things they love. and parkers famous saying is, "they'll learn." which is always what i repeat in my head as they poke and throw things into the fire. we had a fun fireside, and enjoyed a live "band," if you will. harmonica and all. parker brought hundreds of glow sticks for all the kids, which we found all over camp the next morning.

we lent one of our sleeping bags to someone who had forgotten theirs....leaving parker and i to share one (blanket style-haha). a delicious pancake breakfast at sun up, a trip to the fish hatchery and then we headed home.

the scenery definitely looked better at night. the mountains were all burned, it was sad. the weather was perfect though. the kids enjoyed themselves, and then it was game time. go devils.
