labor day

we spent labor day weekend at the cabin. i've never seen it so green. right out our room, looking up the mountain was amazing. my favorite was the meadow filled with sunflowers. it rained, the kids rode quads and got dirty, we played cards, painted, ate like champs, attended pine ward and went home with a few scrapes and bruises. after playing hide-n-go-seek in the meadow, the kids all came running in the cabin, half of them crying. they had been attacked by bee's. parker was a little dramatic, or so i told him. he cried a lot longer than the rest of them. "suck it up," i thought-since all the others were over it. it wasn't till we got home, and the kids got into swim suits, when i noticed a huge softball size welt on parker's stomach. it was red, hard and hot to the touch. which is when i realized that he is allergic to bee's. i felt so bad. i had shown only minimal sympathy when the dude really was in so much pain. i felt like the worst mom ever. it lasted for a few days, and is slowly going away. poor guy.what's a summer holiday without bbq-ing and swimming, over at the david's. after swimming for a short period of time, molly bear sliced her eye in the pool and had to go get stitches. which is when my great looking husband (hehe) took over on the grill. the pool was filled with kids, they had so much fun on the slide. i laughed so hard too. they would all get on, then the last one would go down knocking them off one by one....somewhat to the domino affect. it was hilarious. can't believe the slide didn't break. we had 14 kids on there at once. tills, one of my children born fearless, goes up the latter to the slide, and goes down solo. i think it's funny, although we do have someone follow behind her, due to the transitioning at the top (going from standing to sitting position). she is a little wobbly. cons wore coops old speedo, he couldn't wipe the smile off his face.
