celebrate!

tuesday morning was parker's day off from making the kids breakfast....only for his birthday. he thinks it's very important for kids to get a "good," tummy filling breakfast every morning. his mom (6th grade teacher) always talks about how she can always tell which kids had a "good" breakfast and which did not. i made his favorite, home made waffles with fried eggs, doused with maple syrup (he prefers buttermilk syrup, but i forgot to buy buttermilk the night before). the kids and i decorated the house a little bit the night before, and set out the " you are special" red plate and cup. i spent the rest of the evening making cupcakes for 2 special occasions. next we were off to celebrate graduation for the canyon climbers preschool class. it was a little long, but cute. the "posse" always feels so special, since grandma's their teacher. instead of a "hand shake" from mrs. cummard, they got a hug & kiss. when their name was called, they stood up on a chair and one of grandma's 6th graders read some things about them (quincy looked so serious)....
name: quincy
number in family: 4
favorite color: green, candy bar: gumball
favorite animal: zebra, tv show: transformers
favorite thing to do: play with playdoh
favorite thing to do at preschool: paint
if i were boss of everybody, i'd make everyone: paint a rainbow
between every few kids, they got up and preformed a song.tilley is in awe of her big sister, the graduate.and what's a birthday without celebrating with those you love...a special birthday dinner, and gifts of course. parker wanted taco's, so that's what we had. beef, pork and chicken. along with every other mexican side dish there ever was! everyone helped bring, or cook for the party. we thank our wonderful family and friends for coming. i think the best gift parker got on his birthday was a special phone call from the 1st counselor in our ward, i think parker would agree. how thoughtful right....um, not when he ends by asking you to talk on sunday. why do i not feel like talking in church is a "privilege."
