After opening up gifts from under the tree, and being re-assured that they were in fact on Santa's "nice list." Parker rounded the kids up, to go help him feed the cows. "It's Christmas he told them, they need a special Christmas breakfast too!" The followed him out there and as they start throwing the cows bails (or handfulls) of hay, he says to them......"what is that noise?" "do you hear that!?!?" (little) Parker says, "DAD! SANTA BROUGHT YOU A GOAT, JUST WHAT YOU WANTED!" Sure enough, Santa had delivered us a goat.......and a pig......and Mom & Dad adopted another baby calf!
Notice: in the 3rd picture Conway is hiding his trucks, as if the goat might want to eat them for his special Christmas breakfast.

The kids chased the goat around for a minute, then Parker walks over to the neighboring stable/corral (whatever you cowgirls/boys call it) and opens up that gate....pretending to hear oinking noises. The look on Quincy's face says it all. She was so excited. The boys however, call it a "grumpy pig (aka javelina)." and are afraid of it. She did ask me why the pig Santa brought isn't pink....which is when I had to explain that Santa might be color blind, just like their uncle Cam. Yes folks, this is a baby pig, it's so big!

One of Buck's (Cam's Dad) cows had a baby cow a couple weeks ago. Again we came home from church to find a new addition to our little farm. The kids love it. Buck was planning on selling the cow, so instead we told the kids that we adopted (aka bought) it from Buck. They were quite concerned that Otie's friend would be leaving us soon....but now he gets to stay.

So there you have it.....the answer to all of your questions, "are you going to get a pig for Christmas?" Eat your heart out Megan-I'm sure you'd be better at this than I am. Throughout this entire process Parker kept telling me he was getting me cowgirl gear.....I'm so not down. Maybe eventually, but not yet. Any name suggestions for the 3 new animals. My kids have been calling them "piggy," "goatie" and "Otie's best friend."
