"...and a Happy New Year!"

We go caroling every 2nd Sunday in December with Parker's side of the family. It's such a fun tradition that all the grand kids love. We take plates of goodies to the select few that we visit. There's usually a much larger group than we had this year. It was mostly Cummards, with a few Clouses and Nelsons. Grandma & Grandpa Cummard are always the first stop. It was good to visit them, and see Grandma doing so well (she is recovering from a terrible car accident that happened earlier this year). They always invite us in....and then I think forget WHY! Crazy Cummard Kids!
Second stop is always Uncle Milo & Aunt Donna's. Their house is always decorated beautifully for Christmas. It's always fun exchanging goodies when we get to their house. Donna always has some baked good waiting for us. We usually try to get our posse in and out as quickly as possible at their house as well. It's not quite as peaceful with 25 kids running around., but I think they enjoy the energy when we're there.
One of the kids favorite things about going caroling together, is car hopping. Our car is usually the more popular one....what can I say ;) The mini van RULES! I think the movie might have given us a little leverage over the other cars. Calee was consistent in our car, but the others rotated between our car and the Davy's. There was even a point in time where there were too many, and we had some on the floor-safe I know.
The last couple houses were people WE didn't know, but it's always so fun to see the suprised look on people's faces when a group of carolers show up. It's a simple act of kindness, that I think reminds the kids of the gift of giving. The feeling in your heart when you give, cannot compare to when you receive. Which is important to teach small children. The song we always sing as we're heading back to our cars is always "We Wish You a Merry Christmas!" The kids know most of the words, and it seems to send the message perfectly.
Baby's First Christmas.....the hat fit like a glove. Adorable.
