doctors and dentists
so after day 6 of being on antibiotic number 2 & 3 and still lots of drainage from tills ear...i decided to take her to the ent. the sleepless nights were catching up to parker and i (and her) and this was my last option. tills slept on me while we waited 45 min. in the waiting room, and then another 30 min. after taken back and told "the doctor will be with you in a minute." right. finally when i explained our last 3 weeks with tills, he decided the best thing would be to take her into the "procedures room" and suction out all the puss & mucus still infecting her little ear. it sounded harmless. another "short" wait, and then the process began. i hate more than anything when you have to restrain a kid against their will (for shots etc.). she screamed louder than i've ever heard her as the nurse and i held her body and head down for the doc to begin suction. it was over in a heartbeat, thank goodness. she has till saturday on the oral antibiotic and another week on the ear drops. the tube, luckily is still in place. the other ear is to be suctioned in 2 weeks to remove all the wax...in hopes the tube in her left ear is too still in tact. she still points to her ear and says "owie" and again woke up in the night...but i'm hoping that changes, and it's all out of bad habit.
tomorrow i will spend my morning at the paediatric dentist. when quincy was little she chipped one of her front teeth, causing the front two teeth to be worn completely down to the roots. her grinding didn't help either. she has complained when she eats and when she drinks that those two front teeth hurt for a while now. at our last dentist visit, he said they will probably need to come out, sooner than later. well, tomorrow is the day. she's actually really excited about it. not quite sure why. to prevent the teeth and gums from getting infected, he's going to extract them. to do so, they shove the gums up and wiggle the tooth out...ouch! she will have the oral sedation, and i'm not sure how my drama queen will handle that. wish me luck! parker will be coming too, to bling out the other side of his mouth. last week he got 2 silver teeth and 4 cavities filled on his right side. this week its 2 more silvers and 2 more cavities on the left. he has the worst teeth, and apparently doesn't brush very well. lucky for us, we have the greatest dentist in the world and is a huge lee/byu fan, so he treats lee's nieces and nephews real well. perks! can i just say being a mommy is the greatest thing in the world, but i'm keeping it real when i say, it's so exhausting!
