parker and
quincy missed meet the teacher, and missed their first week of school while we were in
california.
it's strange living on a county island. our address reads gilbert, we're in a queen creek ward and stake, and my kids are in the chandler school district boundaries. chandler school district is modified year round. their school is brand
spankin' new.
parker is in kindergarten and
quincy is in
pre-k. their classrooms are right next door to
each other.

i let the kids pick out their
outfits for the first day.
parker is very picky. he was dead set on plaid shorts, and was very excited about his new shoes....since he bought them with his own money in
california.
quincy on the other hand, could care less. she picked out the shirt and then after 10 min. told me to pick out the rest. it wasn't
conway's first day, but he insisted on wearing a backpack the entire day, and was very pleased in a pair of hand-me-down shoes from
parker. we washed them and put in new laces, and you would never know.
tilley was excited about the camera-as always, screaming "
teese" over and over.

dad came with me to
drop off parker. we went a little (
ok a lot) early, since it was my first day there too. we were able to meet both
parker and
quincy's teachers before anyone else arrived. then
parker went to
line up with his new classmates, not his first rodeo.
quincy would be returning later for pm
pre-k.
mrs. wilson
mrs. sission
parker is the big man in his class. we explained to him the reasoning behind doing 2 years of
kindergarten. he
gets a little grin on his face when we tell him, he's one of the older kids, the big kids in his class this year,
instead of the youngest and smallest. it was a tough decision, but we know we have done the right thing. he is smart and social, and feel he will do even better round 2.

believe it or not,
quincy is our shy one.
i'm sure she'll loosen up, but for now, she keeps to herself and is very quiet. it's a big transition going from 2 day preschool to every day
pre-k! it wasn't till the 6
th day she finally told me she had made some friends and told me their names. before then, she would go on and on about how so and so wasn't listening, or so and so wouldn't stay in their seat. she loves going to the "big school" and it is very comforting to her, knowing her big brother is in the room right next door. when i pick them up the first thing they tell me is
whether or not they saw
each other in the hall. it's only been once that they haven't. she loves that little reassurance.
tuesday conway got to meet his teacher,
mrs. keesler. he has been counting down the days (so what if i was too). he was a little
disappointed when he noticed that
kalie (
mrs.
k's daugher) wasn't the one that would be teaching him though (she's his teacher in nursery, and he has a mini-crush on her).

today was his much anticipated
first day of
preschool. after taking
parker in the mornings, and then
quincy in the afternoons, he thought his turn would never come. he too can be a little quiet. it's funny
cus he really does talk a lot, he just has this quiet little voice.
mrs. k, lives right up the road, and 5 out of 8 kids in her class are in
conway's nursery class at church, the rest are a year older.

he hopped out the car, and ran up to the door and then became a little hesitant when he realized i wouldn't be staying. i thought he wouldn't let me leave, but he was a champ...after many hugs and kisses of course. he's such a
softie, i love it. he was giddy when i picked him up and keeps asking if he has school tomorrow.

this is just one of their many
firsts, and
i'm so proud! although i do feel like a taxi cab, going to and from school 3 times a day for
parker and quince, and twice a week for cons, but it's nice that it's all with in a couple miles of home (and hopefully soon i will find someone to carpool with).
