hide-n-go-seek
is a game my kids love to play. this time, however we weren't playing. parker and quincy went with me. we were running errands. tony stayed home with the tiered little ones. tilley was napping and conway was laying with tony on the couch. conway told tony he had to go "bafroom". when i got home i found tony frantically searching the house. "he went to the bathroom, and never came out!!!" is what he kept telling me. we paced the house, looking in every bedroom, closet and bathroom. i screamed his name, surely loud enough for neighbors to hear. i looked under every bed...parkers-conways bed, under quincy's-my diaper and wipes stash, under the crib-baskets of baby lotion/soaps and other nick knacks, under ours-bins of winter and maternity clothes. i grab my cell phone, and hop on my bike-with 9-1-1 dialed, ready to push send. tony is scanning the perimeter, yelling his name. looking in the stables, in all the pastures. he is nowhere to be found. i'm now hysterical, i look down at my phone, and just before pushing send, get the feeling to check under my bed once more. "it's filled with bins," i told myself over and over, as i run back inside, now sweating. i look under parker's side-BINS! i walk around to mine....
...and there he was. who knows why he crawled under there, but he had fallen asleep. and i laid there staring at him. thanking heavenly father over and over again for my many blessings.
