lucky me!

tonight i am in charge of the mutual activity for my beehives. since i was nominated the "crafty one" of the 3 advisers, the girls begged to have one mutual activity where they learned how to make cards. tonight's the night....and as i was preparing, i was feeling awfully lucky. for many reasons. lucky to my heavenly father for my health and strength. lucky to my parents, and for the examples they are in my life. lucky that i was the one parker chose to take to the temple, to be sealed to for time and all eternity. lucky that i'm the one trusted to love and nurture 4 beautiful and innocent children. lucky that i have a home, food and clothes. lucky that i have family that live only a short drive away. lucky to have good friends, whom i can confide in and laugh with. and lucky to be able to serve in the young women. i have grown to love these girls so much. the way they look up to me and compliment me, leaves me not only feeling lucky, but very blessed. i made some sample cards/tags, they are very simple. i printed out a little poem i came up with today, and each girl will get to make their own card, attach it to one of the cellophane bags, and deliver it to someone they feel like they are lucky to have in their lives.

the poem:

Spring is here as you might know,
do you know what that means?

I’ll show how lucky that I feel,
by gifting you with
green!

To let you know that you are thanked,
for simply being YOU!

Your kindness has made a difference,
so keep doing what you do!

the girls loved it, whew! look how cute their's turned out...and how cute they are! i even got to bring a good luck charm with me-which they loved even more. tilley was a little afraid at first, since she was out numbered by babysitters...but that didn't last too long, once they started feeding her chocolate!
