Monday night the kids got ready for
bed early, so they could watch a
Christmas movie.
Babe was on TV, so they settled for that instead. While watching Quincy said, "Mom, can Santa bring me a
pink pig for Christmas?" I was seriously just thinking to myself, "how cute would it be to get the kids a little pig for Christmas! (perfect gift for kids that
live on a farm)" I picked up the
phone and while I was
dialing said, "I'm going to call...." and before I could say
"my Dad," to see if it was even a possibility, Quincy shouted out,
"SANTA? Mom, do you know
Santa's numbers!?!?" Thinking (or hoping) my Dad
wouldn't answer, I quickly replied, "EVERY Mom and Dad has
Santa's phone number!" Just then,
"Hey Noe," my Dad answered. "Santa?" He
caught on quickly and shouted back,
"HO, HO, HO!" I said, "Quincy's been a
very good girl, and wants to tell you what she wants for Christmas...." A
little laugh from Santa. I handed Q the phone, and she said in an
anxious yet semi-confused voice, "Santa?" Her face instantly
lit up, it was THE cutest thing. The conversation was short, and she handed me back the phone. "Hello?" My Dad could
hardly talk he was laughing so hard. Once he could
talk again-without laughing, Parker and Conway had their
turns. I don't know
who loved it more....my kids or my Dad. It was great, and will for sure be a
new tradition to call Santa on the phone each year. Of course they've
asked every night since if they could call him again....we simply have to
remind them that Santa is busy
making a list and checking it twice. Simple pleasures mean so much to
innocent kids, I love it! Of course my kids had to call all
their cousins after and tell them they
talked to Santa on the phone.....which I'm sure their Mom's and Dad's appreciated.
Santa Wayne is $5 a phone call-if anyone else would like to
start the tradition in their family
contact me for his digits-lol.
